Aging population intergenerational connectivity

According to UNESCO, traditional craftsmanship is a vital domain of intangible cultural heritage (ICH), valued not only for the craft products but also for the knowledge, skills, and processes transmitted across generations. In Singapore, this is particularly visible in Peranakan material culture, where hybrid traditions of tilework, carved timber, beadwork, and rattan furniture. Yet these practices face an uncertain future, threatened by shrinking markets, aging practitioners, and weak succession. This project responds by developing a spatial computing framework for craft knowledge transfer, piloted through rattan weaving.
